Insurance Highlights
September 2007

Effective October 1, 2007, district health insurance coverage is with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois PPO for medial, vision, and prescription coverage. That means there is a list of doctors to choose from for in-network benefits. You may go outside the network, but it is more costly. See the Schedule of Benefits in the Benefit Booklet

Delta Dental is providing dental coverage and also has a network of dentists. If you go out-of-network, the plan will pay just as it did before, but if you go in-network, there will be a savings.

Prescription coverage through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois includes the mail order option. A 90 day supply for maintenance drugs is also available through Oswald's Pharmacy in Naperville.

BlueCross BlueShield provides a discount vision program, EyeMed, and a discount program for hearing aids, TruHearing, that works in conjunction with district benefits. Use your BCBS ID card for the discount then submit a claim for the insurance benefits.
